My Teaching Philosophy
It is my goal to foster a love for music in each student and provide a solid foundation in keyboard technique and musicianship so that students are empowered to explore the various styles. I do my best to encourage and challenge each individual with a well rounded curriculum which includes different styles of repertoire, theory, improvisation, ear training, sight reading and performance opportunities.
Although I believe that pianists need to be familiar with classical repertoire, I also incorporate music to fit each student's individual interests that may also include popular, jazz, ragtime, religious, folk tunes etc. By providing the students with the tools needed in learning this art, it is my goal to help them develop their full potential and use their imagination as well as have fun playing the piano.

My Piano Journey
I started piano lessons when I was five years old, taught by my mother. I discovered not only the joy of performing but also the deep fulfillment that comes from sharing music with others. Over the years, that calling led me to pursue a degree in piano performance, which then led me to teach students of all ages. I have taught a variety of lessons that include group, buddy classes and of course, private lessons, which support students’ musical growth through many performance opportunities. I find joy in passing on that same spark of curiosity and love for music from when I was a child.

What I Offer
In my teaching, I strive to give students a well-rounded musical education that is both engaging and meaningful. While classical music remains at the heart of my approach which provides the foundation for strong technique, artistry, and musical understanding, I also incorporate a wide variety of repertoire so students can explore different styles and discover what inspires them. Students not only learn solo repertoire but also a wide variety of ensemble music. Through duets and collaborative works, they develop listening skills, rhythmic precision, and musical teamwork, which helps them gain valuable experience and enhances their overall musicianship skills. I enjoy using technology as a tool in lessons, from interactive apps that reinforce rhythm and theory to digital resources that make practicing more fun and effective. These tools allow students to stay motivated and connect with music in ways that feel fresh and relevant, while still keeping the focus on building solid piano skills. Ultimately, my goal is to balance tradition with innovation: preserving the timeless value of classical training while creating a learning experience that is exciting, personal, and adaptable for today’s students.
