I began to take piano lessons with Ms. Watt when I was seven years old, and will never forget that first introductory lesson when she came to the music classroom at my elementary school to meet me for the first time. Although I was quite shy back then, she was able to help me "break out of my shell" and to patiently assess and improve my piano skills. My parents knew from then forward that she would be the perfect teacher to develop my interest in music. Three years later when I demonstrated interest in music composition, she kindly helped me to compose my first few pieces and did not hesitate to refer me to a composition teacher while still advising me on my new pieces. Later when I was ten, I began to teach piano to my own students, and Ms. Watt was always so helpful in assisting me to learn the art of music teaching, even allowing my students to play in our studio piano recitals. We really enjoyed this and were all so grateful, always looking forward to the next recital. She also prepared me exceptionally well for the Certificate of Merit test every year, all the way up to the final level. Currently I am a freshman music major at the Thornton School of Music of the University of Southern California, and I can honestly say that I would not have been accepted to this school if not for her wonderful work, as she has prepared me so well for advanced music study throughout the years. Ms. Watt is the nicest and best piano teacher ever with an abundance of experience, and I am sure she would be the perfect teacher for your child as well.

How can I write a testimonial about someone who is beyond compare? Let me see if I can do some justice.
I am located in Northern California. When I was looking for a piano teacher for my then 7 year old son, a teacher I had originally contacted, recommended Amy because she didn't have time. One has to believe in destiny...We met Amy and started piano lessons which continued for many years. She had the patience of a saint as she worked with my son, and taught him to enjoy music and the piano. She made classes fun and exciting-kids received stickers for practicing. We had recitals that were so enjoyable...wonderful concerts, where we enjoyed listening to other budding musicians, met many lovely families. And over eight years, my son went without fail and passed the California Certificate of Merit exams with Amy's wonderful guidance. I recommended many people to her who brought their children. We all were devastated when she left us to move to Colorado and to this day all the kids say to their parents- why can't you find another teacher like Ms. Amy?
I recommend Amy Watt unequivocally to teach your child a beautiful art that you can cherish for life. You will not find another person who will teach your child music and nurture them like they should be.

Mrs Watt is my best piano teacher ever !!
When I joined Mrs. Watt , I didn't know much of piano but knew that I want to learn it. She was patient with me & taught me so lovingly. She always encouraged me & made me feel comfortable. After just few months of learning from her , I was confident of appearing for CM test & I did pass 2 levels with her . Recitals were so much fun. All kids would dress up so nicely & each one of us would play to our best.
I miss her being my teacher & somewhere I feel she should teach me again.
Thank you Mrs Watt.

"The BEST teachers teach from the HEART, not from the book" goes the quote.
And it suits Ms. Amy so well. As a teacher of my 2 girls aged 10 and 6, Ms. Amy brought a sea change in the girls' piano skills and
their attitude toward music. They enjoyed every class with her and looked forward to it during the weeks.
Add to her immense music knowledge, the fact that she is also a mother of two. So you have an accomplished parent
teaching your child. We cannot thank Ms. Amy enough for instilling strong piano basics and love for music. In a short
duration we saw a vast change in the piano level of our children.
We are sad to lose her to Colorado, but wish her the best in her life and piano tutoring there.
Ms. Amy, thanks again for everything."

My son Andrew has taken lesson from Amy since 3rd grade and we have seen dramatic improvement over the years. Hands down Amy is the best piano teacher we've encounter thus far. I'd highly recommend Amy to students interested in learning piano, they will sure benefit from her style of teaching.
